Leicester are still hopeful of signing West Brom striker Ishmael Miller on loan, despite the player's recent injury.
Miller's proposed move to the Walkers broke down days ago after a setback to his ongoing injury problems, but the issue is not as bad as first feared.
West Brom manager Roberto Di Matteo said: "I had a conversation with Sven and it happened the day Ishmael picked up a small injury, so I had to pull that one.
"Ishmael is not far from joining training again. We hope by the end of this week he can join in training again."
Leicester's interest in the forward has been ongoing for around a month when speculation first broke, but Miller has been forced to stay put while Peter Odemwingie recovered from his knee injury.
City chief Sven-Goran Eriksson knows the striker well from his spell in charge of Manchester City, and is keen to add to his attacking line ahead of the busy Christmas period.
Meanwhile trialist Razak Omotoyossi has revealed his determination to win a contract with the club.
The Benin striker scored in the Reserves' 5-1 victory over Notts County yesterday, and has admitted he hopes to stay at the club to catch the eye of Eriksson.
"I was pleased, but I need to work on my fitness," he said.
"Leicester is a good club with good players and I wanted to do well during my trial. I am hoping to be here for two weeks."
