Moussa makes it five

Moussa makes it five

Leicester have snapped up Southend United midfielder Franck Moussa on a free transfer.

The 21-year-old joins the Foxes on a two-year contract from the League Two side after making just shy of 100 appearances for the Essex club.

Moussa is a self-proclaimed central midfielder, but has also been employed on both wings during his time at Roots Hall.

The young midfielder - who has made appearances for Belgium at under-18 and under-19 level - made his Southend debut at the age of just 16, before going onto become a regular fixture in the first team via a brief loan spell at Wycombe.

"It is a great opportunity to join this football club, when I heard of the interest and spoke to the manager I was delighted to sign here," the player said.

"As soon as I heard of the interest it was a no brainer, with this manager in charge this is a great opportunity to learn a lot and develop myself as a player.

"I am a centre midfielder by trade, but I've played a bit out wide for Southend. I like to have the ball at my feet and I'm sure the manager wants to see a lot of free flowing football and I want to be part of that.

"I like to get forward from midfield and if I can bring something positive to the game then I will."

Foxes manager Paulo Sousa was close to taking the player to Swansea during his tenure at the Liberty Stadium, but instead sees the young midfielder join up with his Leicester side ahead of tomorrow's clash with Middlesbrough.
