Sousa leaves Swans

Paulo Sousa looks almost certain to become the new manager of Leicester City afte leaving Swansea, according to reports.

Sources in both Wales and his native Portugal have revealed that the 39-year-old has departed the Liberty Stadium, and will become Leicester's new manager imminently.

Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric revealed that he was to begin his hunt for Nigel Pearson's successor over the weekend, but now looks set to finalise a deal to bring Sousa to the Walkers Stadium.

Speculation linking the former-Queens Park Rangers to take over the reins has been rife ever since Pearson's departure to Hull, with bookmakers slashing their odds on Sousa taking over during the last week.

The experienced Sousa guided Swansea to a 7th place finish in the Championship last year, and now looks set to put pen to paper on a reported three-year contract with City.

I'm in two minds about this. I know he did a decent job at Swansea, but can he step up to the plate here? As for Nigel, I'm disappointed with him. It's probably likely that Hull offered him more money - but where is the ambition? This club is bigger than Hull will ever be - we've got history, unlike them - and Nigel would have had more chance of achieving something here than he ever will there.
