Solano rewarded with deal

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson has rewarded Nolberto Solano with a new six-month contract at the Walkers Stadium.

The Peruvian initially joined the Foxes in January on a six-month deal as a free agent, but his performances in Leicester's play-off campaign have seen him offered an extension to his stay at Filbert Way.

Despite playing the majority of his career in midfield Solano has been employed at right back by Pearson, a role in which the 35-year-old has performed well in since his move to the cub.

Manager Nigel Pearson said: "I would like to keep Nobby, most certainly."

"There were a few eyebrows raised when he came in but I think he has shown what he can do.

"His performances have been excellent. He has been fabulous for us.

"The quality and experience he brings, and how he uses it, have been invaluable to us."

Meanwhile young midfielder Aman Verma, who enjoyed a loan spell with Crewe earlier in the season, has also been offered a short-term contract extension with the club.
