Gradel Moves On

Leeds United have signed winger Max Gradel on a permanent deal after the 22-year-old handed in a transfer request at the Walkers Stadium.

The fee, although undisclosed, is rumoured to be in the region of £200,000, as Gradel signs a two-and-a-half-year deal at Elland Road.

Gradel spent three months on loan with the League One club, finding the net three times during his spell, becoming a huge hit in the process.

He returned to Leicester last week after his loan spell ended, almost immediately submitting a transfer request after finding situation regarding his first team opportunities exactly the same.

Gradel hinted at regret as he left the Walkers, saying: 'Nigel did not want to sell me, but I said I wanted to go because I was not playing first-team football. I put in the transfer request because I had to. I wanted to play football again. I didn't want to play in the reserves again.

'I liked the Leicester fans. They have been very good to me and they always supported me.'

Leicester fans will no doubt feel regretful that their young star could never fully find his feet at the Walkers, but I'm sure I speak for everybody when I wish him well in his future endeavours.

Maxi, we still salute you for that free-kick.
