Louis Dodds emphasised his considerable potential to Leicester City with his Westerby Challenge Trophy match-winning hat-trick against Coalville.
Such an understated player, Dodds demonstrated as so often before this season, what a calm and clinical finisher he is.
Dodds is not noted as a powerhouse striker. He is much more the artist at work, just doing what is necessary to put the ball in the net.
Perfection would have given him a double hat-trick but the three he did get were vital and further evidence of the understanding which exists among so many members of the Academy/Reserves side. And they once again illustrated why he was voted Academy Player of the Season.
So many of Leicester's attacks were orchestrated by Levi Porter in left-midfield whose ability to weight the most delicate of passes caused havoc in Coalville's rearguard.
Porter made mistakes but his workrate and commitment never faltered and whenever Leicester managed one of their many strikes on goal, he was usually involved in the build-up somewhere.
And was there yet another City star in the making to be seen?
Tom Tejan-Sie only came on as a second half substitute but he got into so many excellent scoring positions, missed one sitter, hit a post and was constantly involved in some excellent City attacks.
Max Gradel, surely the most dangerous winger on City's books, sadly squandered all his chances last night but - even against a difficult opponent - still managed to be a constant threat to the Coalville goal.
The 400-500 spectators didn't get the chance to see England Under 16 International Ashley Chambers (pictured), who watched the action from the stand.
How City could have done with his natural finishing ability alongside Dodds.
