Kee Makes The Grade
Leicester City striker Billy Kee has been called up to Nigel Worthington's senior Northern Ireland squad ahead of Wednesday's key World Cup qualifier against Slovakia.
The 18-year-old is currently on loan at League Two Accrington Stanley for much-needed first team experience. After scoring a hat-trick on his pre-season debut, Kee has since made six appearances for the Stanley first team.
Kee's call-up follows the news that Kyle Lafferty looks likely to miss the home tie at Windsor Park through a knee injury. Lafferty scored Northern Ireland's opening goal against Poland yesterday evening.
Kee has been only been a part of the Northern Ireland youth setup inside this year, and has since progressed rapidly through the international ranks. He was a part of the Under-21 side which lost 2-0 to the Czech Republic on Friday night.
