Pre-Season Begins For Pearson

Pre-Season Begins For Pearson

A mixture of youth and experience merged together when Nigel Pearson took two if his Leicester City sides to local sides Loughborough Dynamo and Tamworth on Saturday.

The friendlies were worthwhile for both pre-season fitness and the general Leicestershire footballing community, with Dynamo doubling their usual gate.

Loughborough Dynamo 1-3 Leicester City

Goal-scorers: Kee, Dickov, Adams

Team: Logan: O'Neill, Boulger, Brown, Mattock, Gradel, Verma, Adams, Ajdarevic, Kee, Dickov. Subs: Ambrusics, C King, John

Leicester got their pre-season off to a winner with a comfortable 3-1 victory over local side Loughborough Dynamo. Goals from Billy Kee and Paul Dickov inside the first 10 minutes were enough to give Nigel Pearson's men a comfortable victory, with Nicky Adams adding a third in the second half.

Tamworth 1-1 Leicester City

Goal-scorer: Berner

Team: Weale: Neilson, Morrison, Hobbs, Berner, C King, Oakley, Burns, Dyer, Howard, Chambers. Subs Pentney (60 for Weale), Parkes (55 for C King), Bolger (87 for Neilson), John (80 for Burns)

A resilient Tamworth battled back inside the last three minutes to snatch a hard-earned draw. Bruno Berner's 54th minute strike had put the Foxes ahead early in the second half, but an impressive equaliser from Tamworth's Nick Wright saw the home side come away with a share of the spoils.
