Wellens Ready to Sign

Doncaster Rovers midfielder Richie Wellens has completed his medical with the club and is expected to be unveiled tomorrow morning.

The deal is thought to be in the region of 1.8m, as the player becomes Nigel Pearson's seventh signing of the summer.

Wellens has made 96 appearances for Doncaster since making the switch from Oldham Athletic in 2007. He began his career under Sir Alex Ferguson with Manchester United, but was later allowed to leave for Blackpool in 2000.

It is believed that Leicester have already had two bids rejected for the player, but have now finally been successful with a bid around 1.8m to prise him away from the Keepmoat Stadium.

The deal has now been finalised and an official announcement should be made in the morning.
