'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Five-goal average for TV matches

With tonight's Leicester City versus Crystal Palace Championship match being televised, history suggests that fans can expect goals galore - but not necessarily at the right end from a Leicester point of view.

Leicester's three televised matches so far this season have yielded five goals apiece.

First came the 4-1 defeat at Sheffield United in the opening game of the season, then the shatteringly unexpected 3-2 defeat at Stoke and final the inspired 3-2 FA Cup comeback against Spurs.

There is also a fairly recent history of goals against Crystal Palace. Three League Cup clashes at the turn of the Millennium produced 15 goals, there being a 3-0 home defeat in 2000 season and a 4-2 home replay victory after a 3-3 draw at Selhurst Park in 1999.

Palace's goals potential should be boosted by the inclusion of striker Andy Johnson who was stretchered off with apparent concussion after a collision with Watford keeper Ben Foster on Saturday.

Palace recovered from a 1-0 deficit to win 3-1 and take their League goals tally for the season to 62.
