Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric has resuscitated his Premier League dream following Leicester's immediate return to the Championship.
Mandaric told Sky Sports: "It's realistic. Leicester is a huge club with tremendous support. With all fairness I think it is a Premier League club and a good Premier League club.
I cannot see why one day when Leicester are in the Premier League to be one of the top ten clubs. The sooner the better'.
Mandaric also admitted that relegation to League One cost in the region of £10 million, but is still adamant that manager Nigel Pearson will have the funds required for the Foxes to mount a challenge in the Championship next season.
Mandaric was quick to heap the praise on the manager who achieved Leicester's promotion: 'He is a good man, a good manager, knows what he is doing, very focused, very strong personality, he knows exactly what he wants and how he wants it.
Of course he needs support and I am more than delighted to give him support'.
The Foxes have been linked with a move for highly rated Swindon Town striker Simon Cox, who would comfortably cost in the region of £1.5 million. Another transfer Leicester are trying to tie up is the capture of centre back Jack Hobbs from Liverpool, who impressed in his season long loan with the club. Reports suggest a permanent deal could be concluded within the week.
So, will Mandaric put his money where his mouth is? Most Leicester fans would be content to simply compete in this division after over 5 years of managerial merry-go-rounds and failure. Can we mount a serious promotion bid, or are we destined for a season of false hopes once again?
