City stick as loan deadline passes

Today's transfer deadline passed at 5-00pm with Leicester City confirming that they had not made any new loan signings.

Manager Rob Kelly had been looking at 26-year-old Finnish International midfielder Tuomas Haapala.

Haapala, from Manchester City, played in Tuesday's reserves match against Tottenham Hotspur Reserves

He had a reasonable game during the 2-0 defeat but suffered an injury and that confirmed in Kelly's mind that he would stick with his existing squad.

Kelly told the club website: 'I would only bring someone in if I genuinely thought that they would make a big difference to us.'

City's casualties from Saturday's match at Millwall all returned to action today and with Danny Tiatto and Alan Sheehan also back in training City felt fairly confident that they could see the season through without undue difficulty.
