Bernard seals Leicester defeat
A goal in each half, one by Andy Reid and the other by Lee Bernard gave Clive Allen's Tottenham Hotspur Reserves a 2-0 win over Leicester City Reserves at Hinckley tonight.
Both were similar goals, first time crosses to the far side of the box which were despatched first time.
Joe Hamill was closest to a first half equaliser for City with a shot which hit the crossbar and Louis Dodds spooned an excellent second half opportunity over with the goal gaping.
Otherwise Leicester never had anyone to match the class of the Premier Reserve League South's top scorer, 19-goal Bernard, who had a fierce bending shot blocked and skied another effort over from five yards in the closing minutes to emphasise his ever-dangerous presence.
