DJ Campbell didn't have the most successful of seasons for Leicester last time round, but then again who did? His £2.1m move to City last year saw him manage only 5 goals in 32 appearances, although 13 were as a substitute. The change in management so soon after his signing, and a further two managerial changes didn't help his, or our cause either.
Campbell, now 26, knows that this season is crucial for him as he told the Leicester Mercury, and he must make a mark 'This is a big season for me and, after last year, it needs to be a good one.
'It is always good to get a goal to start with in the pre-season and I feel good.
'My fitness is 100 per cent and I have to make my mark.'
With Nicky Adams and Lloyd Dyer added to Max Gradel and Levi Porter the City striker shouldn't be short of the kind of supply he believes he will thrive on. If they supply him he has belief in his ability to score, and he knows this is something he will need to do to stay in the team due to the competition he has, and the chance of yet further arrivals, with Paul Dickov being strongly linked with a return to the Walkers Stadium.
