'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Leicester Job's a good un

Former Wednesday skipper Nigel Pearson is the man entrusted with bringing Leicester City back to the Championship.

Pearson will bring his particular blend of determination and inspiration to the beleaguered Leicester side, becoming the Foxes sixth manager since chairman Milan Mandaric took over at the Walkers Stadium, a mere 16 months ago.

Our Nigel said 'I am delighted I have been given this magnificent opportunity to revitalise the fortunes of this great club after what has been a difficult few years.

I am confident my style of management can help bring the good times back to Leicester City.'

Foxes fans will be hoping for a semblance of stability at the Walkers Stadium, and that the revolving exit door stops turning for long enough to allow Pearson to get on with the job. Saints fans will look on with interest: Pearson's exit from that club was judged by many to be unfair. His influence on the side was just starting to become apparent as Southampton recovered sufficiently to stay in the division last season.

How do you feel about the appointment and how long will Mandaric give him? There is much more pressure on him to have you fighting for Promotion.

It is a big ask for him in his first spell of management. Usually new managers would be tempted to start off in a pressure-free environment, but if things start going wrong in the first couple of months will he be able to cope?

I'm not impressed but not angry about the appointment. Time will tell. Better than John Gregory I guess.
