Graydon signs after 29 years!

Nearly 30 years after first being invited to join Leicester City as a player, Ray Graydon has finally arrived, as a coach.

Graydon told the Official Leicester City website that he could have been Frank McLintock's first signing as a player during that brief and disastrous managerial spell between 1977/78.

But he joined Coventry instead. He later turned down a coaching offer by Mickey Adams as well but finally said yes to Rob Kelly and emphasised that he'd be 'very much a team player'.

Graydon, 58, has extensive experience at various levels as player, coach and administrator working as far afield as China and Japan. He has also been manager of Bristol Rovers and Walsall.

'I am here to work with Ron and Mike and certainly won't be standing on anyone's toes,' he said. 'I don't have an ego and I'm not a big time Charlie. 'I want to help,' he added 'and am as enthusiastic now as I was at 30.'
